Profile:

Andrew Wood was the leading vocalist in Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone, two bands of the late 1980s from Seattle. He died in 1990, and one of his best friends, Chris Cornell wrote two songs in his memory: then he wrote more and this became a whole album: "Temple of the Dog", which then became the name of the band too. Temple of the Dog were a super-grunge-group formed by Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and all Pearl Jam members at the time; in particular Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament were both friends of Andrew Wood and ex-members of Mother Love Bone. "Temple of the Dog" is the band's only studio album, the group then split in 1992 after rare live appearances. From time to time Pearl Jam and Chris Cornell still meet on stage and perform some songs from their album.
