In 1971, after "The Yes Album", Kaye left the band and was replaced by Rick Wakeman. In 1972, Kaye played on the first album of the band "Flash" by Peter Banks, and then founded a his own group, "the Badger"
with whom he released two albums. In 1975 and 1976, Kaye played on tour with David Bowie, and later founded the "Detective", with which he published
three albums: "Detective" (1977), "It Takes One To Know One" (1978) and "Live" (1979). Then, joined, briefly, the "Badfinger".
In the early 80, following a meeting with Squire, Kaye rejoined Yes and his work can be heared (also) on the studio albums "90125th" (1983), "Big Generator" (1987), "Union" (1991) and "Talk" (1994).
