Vanessa Freebairn-Smith is a cellist and, in 2003, a founding member of the Sonus Quartet, which blends classical with rock, hip-hop and pop. In addition to her activity with The Sonus Quarter, Vanessa Freebairn-Smith has collaborated with several artists, such as, John Frusciante, K.D. Lang, Sarah McLachlan, Sting, Gnarls Barkley, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston and Dhani Harrison, Jay-Z, Jewel and Josh Groban.
