Wayne Shorter is a musician and composer, commonly regarded as one of the most important American jazz musicians of his generation. Shorter has recorded over 20 albums as a leader, the first was "Introducing Wayne Shorter" (1959), and worked on many more, further to collaborations with others artists including Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in the late 1950s, Miles Davis's second great quintet in the 1960s and the Weather Report, which Shorter was a founding member in 1970 together with Joe Zawinul. Wayne Shorter, amongst others, collaborated and collaborates with Freddie Hubbard, Joni Mitchell, Lee Morgan, Pino Daniele, Carlos Santana, Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Brian Blade, John Patitucci and Danilo Perez.
