Willie Alexander is mostly known as, for a short time, a member of the Velvet Underground in the early 70s. Alexander replaced Sterling Morrison who left the band to pursue an academic career. After leaving the Velvet Underground, Alexander started a career both as soloist and with his "Boom Boom Band".
