The three members, Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, before founding ZZ Top, in late 1969, played in several Texas bands, including, The Cellar Dwellers, The Hustlers, Moving Sidewalks, The Warlocks and American Blues. The trio is one of the few rock bands of that era, still formed of its original members, They reached the peak of their popularity between the 70s and 80s.
